Dr. Sven Ubik from the Department of Research and Development in CESNET, a Czech NREN (National Research and Educational) will present their low latency streaming hardware, MVTP-TICO-4K and MVTP-2HD-AUDIO.
Workshop with Dr. Elisavet Konstantinidou from University of Nicosia, Cyprus.
A workshop on electromyography (EMG), a method for measuring muscle tension, with Christian Lersch from Noraxon.
This workshop is linked to our project on sound-producing body motion.
The upcoming workshop will be a basically practical, hands-on type workshop that we believe will be very useful for our ongoing work here.
We are much looking forward what we believe will be an informal but highly productive workshop, so hope to see you all there!
Robert Wechsler (choreographer) and Andreas Bergsland (composer) will present a workshop concerning interactive technologies and approaches for turning human movement into music. Together with colleagues (http://www.motioncomposer.com/en/who-we-are/), we have developed a new hardware/software device for persons with disabilities called the MotionComposer and in the process, we have created a number of interactive dance pieces for non-disabled professional dancers. Our approach to human machine interface champions intuitiveness and transparency (clear causality) in the interactive relationship and differs in some important ways from the more common skeleton extraction and gesture recognition approaches, particularly as they concern kinesthesia, synaesthesia and the perception of sound and music.
Professor Petri Toiviainen, a world leading music researcher from the University of Jyväskylä, will present an overview of the emerging field of sound and music computing (SMC).
The FourMs invites to an open workshop at the Motion Capture Lab. December 10-12. Complete schedule of activities and presentations is listed below.
