How can music-playing smart phones with on-board sensors combined with How can machine learning technology change the way in which we listen to music? The FourMs group has participated in the European research project Engineering Proprioception in Computing Systems (EPiCS), and developed several examples of self-aware active music technologies. An interview with two FourMs researchers was published in the Norwegian research magazine Apollon this week.
A prototype of the recently released application PheroMusic was presented at the 40th International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) joint with the 11th Sound & Music Computing conference (SMC) in Athens. The paper is available online.
A new paper by fourMs researchers Anne Danielsen, Investigating repetition and change in musical rhythm by functional MRI, has been published by Neuroscience. (PDF)
NIME researchers and affiliates are involved in 3 publications at the International Conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression at Goldsmiths, University of London this week.
