Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships

The objective of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA PF) is to support researchers’ careers and promote excellence in research.

The Postdoctoral Fellowships action targets researchers holding a PhD who wish to conduct research abroad, broaden their skills and strengthen their career prospects through international, interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral experience.

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions lie under the Excellent Science pillar of Horizon Europe.

Hiring MSCA PFs at the Faculty of Humanities

In Norway, postdoctoral research fellow positions must have a minimum duration of three years. Since most MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships are funded for a shorter period, MSCA fellows at the Faculty of Humanities are usually employed as researchers rather than as postdoctoral research fellows.

This may have consequences for how you plan the training components in the project, especially when it comes to teaching:

  • Teaching and other duties can be included when they are relevant to the project and beneficial for your career development, and will normally be limited (around 10%).
  • Plans for teaching and other duties should be clarified with, and approved by, the department management before they are described in the project plan and submitted.
