Academic Interests
My PhD dissertation examines the inner lives of the irreligious among the Allies during and after World War II in an attempt to nuance the dominant historical narratives of foxhole religion and American Christian nationalism. I enjoy taking an interdisciplinary, thematic approach to historical research. My fascination with the human experience fuels a wide variety of academic interests, which cannot all be included here. However, I find the study of meaning-making through myth, religion, and various forms of story-telling particularly rewarding. In the future, I hope to produce work that investigates the historical relationships between humans and the plants and animals that surround them.
