The project 'Voice in Literature' explores the role of voice in reading, in particular the emotional and cognitive function of voice in reading. It brings together anthropologist Sarah Bro Trasmundi, Old Norse specialist Stefka Eriksen, literary scholar Karin Kukkonen and linguist Dag-Tore Kristiansen.

Their shared article on "Voices in Reading Literature" has been selected as 'Editor's Choice' in the journal Language Sciences. The article draws on empirical work comparing reading aloud and reading silently and analyses the differences by developing an interdisciplinary approach crossing the levels of phonology, cognitive processes in reading and historical and contemporary reading practices.
