In one strand of this project, Ljiljana Šarić examines figurations such as metaphor and metonymy in the conceptualization and linguistic expression of (atypical) emotions (e.g., hope). The empirical material is modern Slavic languages, and the studies are based on general language corpora.

Another strand focuses on emotions in literary translations and is based on a small collection of literary texts. The languages included so far are Norwegian, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, and English.
