Research
Researchers at the Socio-Cognitive Laboratory study how people learn, use, process, and sometimes lose one or multiple languages.
We combine behavioural methods with techniques such as EEG and eye-tracking to investigate language across diverse speakers and contexts, including infants, adult language learners, minority-language speakers, and people with language-related impairments or disorders.
The lab supports a range of research projects and connects research and teaching through coursework and MA projects.
Background and Funding
The Socio-Cognitive Laboratory was established through national world-leading funding awarded to the Center of Excellence MultiLing. Since MultiLing ended, the lab has been run by the Department of Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies (ILN).
