Abstract:
Ann-Helén Laestadius' novel, Stöld is an "intersectional indigenous feminist" novel (Brovold 2023; 185). Laestadius' novel was born of intersecting communal crises that, at a certain point, pushed Laestadius towards writing. In her own words, Laestadius was driven to write in order to inspire. In this paper, I investigate how Laestadius' creative responses to these intersecting crises results in a novel that is written with multiple audiences in mind and the goal of inspiring positive change across communities.
