Come join us for some creative writing and a discussion about using eco-emotions in creative writing and participatory pedagogy! Eco-Emotions postdoc Zack Abrams will lead us through writing exercises combining (mostly) positive ecological emotions with writing about place or natural phenomena.

Using Glen Albrecht's positive earth emotions, manga, novels, poetry, and photographs as inspiration, we’ll write our own short pieces about or from the point of view of environments, weather, flora, and fauna. After writing and sharing some of our pieces, we’ll discuss the usefulness of an eco-emotional writing pedagogy, and ways it could fit into our classrooms and the classes we’d like to see going forward.

Prior to the seminar, please read Glen Albrecht's chapter "The Psychoterratic in the Symbiocene: Positive Earth Emotions" from the book Earth Emotions. You can also find the PDF on Oria or get it directly from Zack, if you need it.
