Academic interests
Gro Bjørnerud's area of study is French literature.
Gro Bjørnerud specializes in early modern poetry, rhetoric, and history. Her research also includes publications on French literature and culture in the 19th, the 20th and the 21st century. She was the vice dean at the faculty of humanities from 2007 – 2014. From 2017 – 2021 she served (full time) as pro rector at UiO. Her most recent publications are on ecocriticism (Ponge and Char) and on contemporary fiction (Zeniter).

- 1999: Received PhD in French literature, with a thesis on François de Malherbe from the University of Oslo
