Monetary law constitutes the legal framework governing a nation’s currency system, including central bank mandates, monetary policy operations, and the institutional arrangements aimed at ensuring financial stability. The inclusion of macro-financial considerations serves to foreground the interlinkages between financial markets and the broader economy, with particular emphasis on systemic risk, credit cycles, and financial vulnerabilities. The workshop is therefore meant to enable a comprehensive exploration of how the regulation of money and credit shapes economic stability and growth, while also bearing upon questions of distribution, inequality, and sustainability.
The workshop is organized under the auspices of the University of Oslo´s research project Central Banks Expanding Role in Financial Markets, financed by Finance Market Fund/ Norwegian Research Council, and supported by Centre Universitaire de Norvège à Paris.
