Academic interests
I am a medievalist specialising in manuscripts and book culture. My research has focussed especially on contacts between Scandinavia and Continental Europe during the High Middle Ages, and how these contacts helped to shape Nordic manuscript culture.
From 2024 to 2026 I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Norwegian Institute in Rome, funded by the Hans Rasmus Astrup Foundation. My project concerns the perception and reception of Rome in twelfth-century Scandinavia, using as its point of departure a manuscript which is now in the Vatican Library (digi.vatlib.it), but formerly belonged to the Danish monastery of Esrum.

Background
I have a Ph.D. degree from the University of Bergen (2017). From 2019 to 2023 I was a postdoctoral fellow at the same institution, leading the project "Flanders, Norway, and Denmark: Relations and Intertextual Exchanges in the High Middle Ages (ca. 1080-1383)", which was funded by the Research Council of Norway. I have held positions at the Institut de recherche et d'histoire des textes (IRHT) in Paris and at the Royal Danish Library in Copenhagen, and been a guest researcher at the Centre for Medieval Literature at the University of Southern Denmark (Odense) and at Ghent University.
