The European Research Council
The European Research Council (ERC) promotes scientific quality and bold, innovative, and cutting edge research by investing in the best researchers, and the best ideas.

The ERC is a unique funding programme in the category of excellent research in EU's key funding programme for research and innovation.
The ERC have several funding models: Starting Grants (StG) for young researchers, Consolidator Grants (CoG) for mid-career researchers, and Advanced Grants (AdG) for experienced researchers.
For projects where researchers collaborate across national borders and disciplines, and which have such ambitious goals that they cannot be carried out by a single research team alone, the ERC has the Synergy Grant (SyG) scheme.
