In this talk, I argue that territorial rights ought to include requirements with regards to how nature is to be treated. Natural entities matter in ways that warrant certain treatment and since territorial rights are rights over natural entities, accounts of territorial rights ought to include these requirements. I also show how current accounts of territorial rights generally fail to include such requirements and give some directions for how account can be changed in order to be able to account for such requirements.
