The study hall is located on the ground floor of Georg Morgenstiernes hus (GM), in room 109.
Please note that the use of these facilities requires that you make yourself acquainted with all the information offered on this web page, and please note in particular that it is not possible to use the reading room later than midnight.
How to Get Access to the Study Hall
Your student card serves as a access card as soon as you have been accepted to a master programme affiliated with IFIKK. For more information about the card, please refer to the Card Centre.
Personal Workspace
The study hall has a total of 68 workspaces. About half of these are distributed as personal workspaces, while the rest can be disposed freely by all students. Students are allowed to leave their books and other study material on their personal workspace throughout the entire semester, while the free spaces have to be cleared out every day.
How to Get a Personal Workspace
The personal workspaces are redistributed each semester and the application deadline is 1 September in the autumn and 1 February in the spring.
Please fill in this form.
You must apply each semester. Please note that a personal workspace must be used at least four days a week.
If you are on leave over a longer period of time, you are required to leave a note on your workspace allowing others to use it in the meantime.
The applications are handled by the study hall supervisor, and they are evaluated after the following list of priorities:
- Students at the 4th semester
- Students at the 3rd semester
- Students at the 5th semester
- Students at the 6th semester
- Students at the 2nd semester
- Students at the 1st semester
When you no longer use your personal workspace – if you have finished your master's thesis or lost your right to the personal space – you have to clear out your personal belongings as soon as possible. The workspace has to be ready to be used by others by the start of the following semester at the latest.
