IKOS PhD Mid-term evaluation: Gender, Nature, and Future: Chinese SF in 21st Century

We want to invite you to an open evaluation with our PhD-fellow in Science Fiction (SF) Studies Kanyu Wang. To comment on the candidates work, we have invited Professor Mingwei Song, Wellesley College, USA

The mid-term evaluation is organized in two parts and starts with a 2-hour public seminar, followed by a closed meeting.

The purpose of the evaluation is to assess the progress of the PhD project at a point when it is still possible to make small or substantial changes. In general, we want to know how the candidate is doing, how much work is done, and what is left.

About the PhD candidate and her Research

Kanyu Wang is employed as a Research Fellow at the Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages. Her project is connected to the larger research project "CoFutures: Pathways to Possible Presents"

Kanyu's academic interests are: Chinese science fiction; China studies; science fiction studies; futurism; gender studies; eco criticism; environmental humanities; science fiction industry studies; international communication of science fiction; creative writing.
