The mid-term evaluation is organized in two parts and starts with a 2-hour public seminar, followed by a closed meeting.

The purpose of the evaluation is to assess the progress of the PhD project at a point when it is still possible to make small or substantial changes. In general, we want to know how the candidate is doing, how much work is done, and what is left.

About the PhD candidate and her research

My research is part of the interdisciplinary project REA:Life consortium: Rediscovery of medicinal plant usage in the “Age of Exploration”: From cultural historical heritage to innovative pharmaceuticals.

In my work, I am particularly interested in the encounter between different medical knowledge systems and how these were conceived and conceptualized in concepts and practices in Norway in the nineteenth century. With a knowledge history perspective, I use a questionnaire material (Norwegian Folk Medicine 1911) that in various ways refers to knowledge discourses in this period.
