Whether you struggle to decide which empirical details to foreground, how to (re)structure your argument or how to move from description to analysis, this text development seminar may be of help.

The seminar is open for chapter and article drafts of all genres as long as they are written as part of a PhD dissertation. The texts must be genuine drafts rather than completed chapters, submitted articles or essays written for other PhD courses.

Each participant must submit a draft text, read the other texts and prepare detailed comments for one of them.

During the seminar, participants will have ten minutes to contextualize their own text. An assigned discussant will then have ten minutes for commenting before we move to a general discussion.

The duration of the seminar will depend on the number of participants. The texts will be circulated one week in advance to make sure that everyone gets sufficient time to read them. A detailed program with necessary details about the division of labour will follow shortly thereafter.

Participation (presenting and commenting) yields: 2 ECTS.

We need at least two registered participants to run the seminar. The seminar is capped at 6 participants. PHD students at IKOS will be given priority.
