On 17 September 2021, Transsustain invited Presenjit Duara to join an internal workshop. His book The Crisis of Global Modernity: Asian traditions and a sustainable future, inspires the project idea at the very beginning.

 

About the speaker,

Presenjit Duara is currently based in Duke University, as the Oscar Tang Chair of East Asian Studies. He received his PhD in Chinese history from Harvard University. He is prolific and published multiple books, articles and book sections. His latest publication is "The Ernest Gellner Nationalism Lecture: Nationalism and the crises of global modernity." (2021)
