EEG

The Lab has a stationary EEG system from BrainProducts and a portable EEG system from AntNeuro.

General information

The EEG room is located in room 115 of Henrik Wergelands hus. It includes a testing room and an adjacent reception area with a hairdresser’s sink for removing conductive gel after recording sessions. Recordings are operated from a control room, where researchers can communicate with participants through a talk-back system. A room-mounted camera and microphone allow researchers to monitor sessions from the control room.

For guidance on making audio and video recordings, see the Handbook for the audio-video system (PDF). Information about reserving lab rooms is available on the Booking rooms page.

BrainProducts stationary EEG system

The lab has a 128-channel Brain Products EEG system for recordings with adults, children, and infants. The setup combines an actiCHamp amplifier with actiCAP active electrodes and includes eight auxiliary inputs for recording additional physiological signals, such as galvanic skin response (GSR), respiration, and pulse.

For basic setup instructions, see the quick-start guide (PDF).

For more detailed system information, check the ActiCHamp operating instructions (requires registration) and available guides on BrainProducts support pages.

ANTNeuro EEGO Portable EEG system

The lab also has an ANT Neuro EEGO portable 24-channel EEG system, which can be used with a laptop for data collection in the lab or off site.

The system includes:

  • A portable amplifier and laptop
  • 24-channel EEG caps in small, medium, and large sizes
  • A travel backpack for system transport
