Participant Database

The Participant Database is a database of the Socio-Cognitive Lab that researchers can use to recruit participants for their projects.

The Socio-Cognitive Lab’s Participant Database supports the recruitment of adult and child participants for research studies. It contains contact information for people who have registered their interest in taking part in research at the Faculty of Humanities.

Promote the participant database

A larger database makes it easier for researchers to recruit participants. Please encourage people who take part in your study to register for the Participant Database.

You can include the registration link or QR code in participant correspondence, or direct participants to the posters displayed throughout the lab. Information letters for participants are available in  English and Norwegian.

Click here to go to the bilingual Norwegian/English registration form, or scan the QR-code below.

Access for researchers

You must apply for access before using the database.

  1. Click here to apply for access to project ec344 (HF-participant database). You will be asked to log in using ID-porten. If you do not have this or need help, please see Apply for access to an existing project in Educloud Research
  2. Send lab manager an email that you have applied (as we do not get automatic notification). We will then manually assess your application.
  3. Once your application is approved, set-up two-factor identification for Educloud.
  4. Log into Virtual desktop of Educloud using Omnissa Horizon Client. For instructions, see Log in to Educloud Research.
  5. Go to Educloud Windows desktop (click the three dots under “view.educloud.no” and click connect).
  6. Inside Educloud, use internet browser to go to: nettskjema.educloud.no; log in with your Educloud credentials.
  7. You can download a .csv or .xlsx file of the results. Note that downloaded files remain in the Educloud virtual desktop.
  • You can click “use codebook” to have shortened variable names.
  • Based on your inclusion/exclusion criteria (e.g., age, gender, languages), identify potentially relevant participants.

Contacting participants

  • Contact only people who meet your study’s inclusion/exclusion criteria.
  • Contact each person only once about the same study.
  • State that you received their contact information because they registered for the Faculty of Humanities’ Participant Database.
  • Use BCC when emailing multiple people. Do not share recipients’ email addresses.

Questions

If you have problems or questions about the Participant Database, contact the lab manager.
