In Writing, Nature, and Eco-Emotions, we will use works from across the world and time to explore how humans have portrayed and dealt with nature, environmental changes, and the emotions these drum up. Using practical and theoretical methods, we will learn what eco-emotions are, how they appear across different literatures and disciplines, and various ways writers use them as tools for activism, empathy, and understanding the world. Finally, we will learn how to express and use our own eco-emotions through creative writing.

The course will be taught spring 2026 and will be available on BA-level (5 or 10 points) and on MA-level (10 stp):

ILN4200/ ILN4950 Internship with Eco-Emotions

MA-students can take an internship with the project, and simultaneously gain credits in their master’s degrees. ILN4200 is a 10 points course that takes approximately 12,5 hours a week. ILN4950 is a 30 points course where you work 3,5-4 days a week on assignments by your PI or a project member.
