About the group
EcoNeuro focuses on neurodivergent ways of experiencing the world — in humans, in non‑humans, and in the relationships between them.
Ecocriticism, environmental humanities, and animal studies may seem unrelated to critical neurodiversity and disability studies, yet they share common threads that can be explored.
Ecologies are real, yet they can also serve as a metaphor for thinking about interactions and differences between and among human and nonhuman beings, particularly in relation to neurodivergent ways of being in the world.
Aims
The group aims to encourage and develop interdisciplinary collaboration about neurodiversity that cuts across species lines.
Scholars working on both sides of the supposedly singular divide between humans and all other nonhuman beings can explore new insights and research questions together.
