Organised by the co-leaders of the Ecologies of Neurodiversity research group at the University of Oslo, the Ecologies of Animality, Disability, and Neurodiversity Symposium introduces cutting-edge research and advocacy work at the intersection of disability, neurodiversity, ecology, animality, and posthumanism.

The symposium engages with ecologies of animality, disability, and neurodiversity in all their shapes and forms: literary, visceral, existential, ethical, and political. It engages with neurodivergent and disabled people’s relationship to the more-than-human world, including nonhuman animals, fungi and forests, biomimetic technologies, public spaces, or the world itself. The various presentations engage with animality, disability, and neurodiversity not only as topics but also as methods for creating more just and liveable worlds.

Presenters include Dawn Prince Hughes (Yale University), Cosetta Veronese (International Society of Zooanthropology), Ombre Tarragnat (EHESS, Paris), Helen Edgar and David Gray-Hammond (Autistic Realms and Neurohub Community), Anahí Gabriela González (Universidad Nacional de San Juan / CONICET / EHESS), Amy Gaeta (University of Cambridge), Anna Püschel (LUCA School of Arts, Ghent), Michael Lundblad (UiO), Tone Druglitrø (UiO), Rosemarie Garland-Thomson (Emory University), Jan Grue (UiO), Sahana V. Rajan (O.P. Jindal Global University), and Tom Z. Bradstreet (University of South-Eastern Norway).

The symposium is convened by Michael Lundblad, Professor of English-Language Literature (UiO), and Ombre Tarragnat, co-leader of the EcoNeuro research group (UiO)
