“Peer Gynt Travels” Seminar with Sofia Theatre, Bulgaria

Welcome to an all-day seminar on “Approaches to Ibsen and Peer Gynt - interpretation and theatrical experience”, in collaboration with Sofia Theatre, Bulgaria!

As part of the closing of a collaborative project - “Peer Gynt Travels” - between Sofia Theatre, Bulgaria and Centre for Ibsen Studies, we invite you to attend a though provoking seminar where artists and scholars from both Bulgaria and Norway will discuss their interpretations and experiences of Ibsen's Peer Gynt.

Program of the seminar:

• 11.00- 11.15   Opening by the host

• 11.15 - 11.45  Lecture “Peer Gynt - Relevant for Young People?” by Agnete Haaland

• 11.45 - 12.15  Introductory words about Peer Gynt show by Professor Kamelia Nikolova

• 12.15- 12.35   Lecture “Peer Gynt in Weimar Germany” by Thor Holt

• 12.35- 12.55  Katya Petrova- director of the show presents the making process

• 12.55- 13.15  Break

• 13.15 – 14.00  Iriney Konstantinov- general manager of Sofia Theatre and actor in the role of Peer Gynt, Aleksandar Tonev- actor in the role of Peer Gynt, Eleonora Ivanova- actress in the role of Solveig  will say some words about their work on the characters

• 14.00 - 14.30   Short documentary of the process of making the show Peer Gynt

• 14.30 - 15.00   Discussion with the participants, the production team and students, theatergoers and guests present in the Auditorium

On 6 September at 7pm, Sofia Theatre will perform its Peer Gynt show at Chateau Neuf's Lillesalen. Tickets are free but seating is limited. So please register using the link on the FB event page
