Our Research Focus
Language proficiency plays a vital role in maintaining and ensuring democratic citizenship across all public administration processes. The centre will explore the ways in which Norwegian serves as a professional language – examining its practical application in areas ranging from legislation and court cases to NAV decisions and the creation of educational materials.
Our research will examine language choices in teaching materials at Norwegian universities and colleges and analyse how digitalisation impacts the development of Norwegian professional language in new learning resources. We will also look at the entire Norwegian non-fiction ecosystem and how professional language interacts with citizens and users.
