To/from the Leonardo da Vinci airport (Fiumicino)

The train station closest to the Norwegian Institute is “Stazione di Trastevere”. Local trains towards Fara Sabina and Poggio Mirteto will stop at Trastevere (8 euro).

Continue by taxi (ca 10 euro), bus 871 or on foot (30 minutes uphill) to get to the Institute. There is also an express train from the airport to Termini (price 14 euro).

From the center

Consult the ATAC (atac.roma.it) website for an overview of Rome bus, tram and metro itineraries. You can also search for itineraries, both in Italian and English.

  • Bus no 44 (starting at Piazza Venezia)
  • Bus no 75 (starting at Piazza Indipendenza near Termini)
  • Bus no 871 (starting in Via Paola, near Castel Sant’Angelo)
  • Bus no. 115 (A circle route, including stops near Castel Sant’Angelo and in Via Morosini/Trastevere)

Tickets cannot be purchased on board, but must be bought in advance in the Tabbacheria or newspaper shops/kiosks or online (for instance the app TicketAppy). A regular tickets costs € 1,50 while a daily ticket € 6 and a weekly ticket 24 euro.
