I am a Roman archaeologist with a particular interest in the Late Roman period (c. 300–700 CE), focusing on how the significant societal changes characterising this era are manifested archaeologically. I hold a PhD from the University of Gothenburg (2019). My PhD thesis examined the Christianisation of urban environments in Late Roman Asia Minor (modern-day Western Türkiye). From 2021 to 2024, I conducted a research project funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR), investigating how burial practices evolved during the Late Roman period and how the Christianisation of the Roman Empire affected this transformation. From 2024 to 2028, my research will focus on how difference and inequality are expressed in Late Roman burial practices in Italy (c. 250–600 CE).

I have extensive experience in archaeological fieldwork across the Mediterranean and Scandinavia. Previously, I have participated in excavation projects led by the University of Oslo in Italy (Tivoli), Greece (Tegea), and Turkey (Hierapolis, as part of the Thanatos Project). Currently, I am involved in an excavation project at the Etruscan city of Vulci in Lazio, Italy (in collaboration with the University of Gothenburg), where we are investigating ritual activities in one of the most significant Etruscan cities of its time.
