Our goal

We aim to connect across sections and disciplines at IKOS, while also being open to interested and committed people from other fields, departments and faculties. Through a series of regular gatherings, we strive to work against silos, create a community across the department, including PhDs, Postdocs, students, and staff.

The Miljøsalon provides a space for PhDs, Postdocs, and visiting scholars people to present their work, to connect them with experimental teaching in the Environmental Humanities, and to further develop thinking around Environmental Humanities concepts.

Activities

Gatherings take a variety of formats ranging from seminars and community building excursions to fireside chats and mushroom foraging.

The Miljøsalon welcomes creative and experimental suggestions for topical foci and meeting formats. Suggestions can be sent to Sonja Åman, who organises all the events.

Next event

Miljøsalon Julegløgg

Monday December 18th from 15:00 onwards, Room 454, P. A. Munchs hus, Blindern.

To close out the autumn semester, you are all invited for an OSEH julegløgg on Monday December 18. We will be in PAM454 from 3pm onwards. There will be some (non-alcoholic) gløgg and holiday treats. Hopefully this will be a cosy way for us to catch up at the end of the semester and to hear about everyone’s plans for next year.

As always, all are welcome and we hope to see many of you to wish you happy holidays and a happy new year!
