Project description
My Ph.D. project of "Taking Political Ecology to China: An Ethnographic Study of Social and Political Responses to Climate and Environmental Change in Zhejiang Province" is aimed to study impacts of and responses to climate and environmental change at local levels in China in-depth. This project is part of the efforts to study processes of adaptations in practice at the local level through a case study in one of the Chinese coastal provinces, Zhejiang. I will explore processes of co-production between power relations and changes in climate and environment within a local area and examine the impacts of such processes. One important aspect of this is to study different forms of agency among local people and the government.
