Trial lectures for the position of Associate Professor in Philosophy (Language/Logic)

Four candidates will give trial lectures for the position of Associate Professor in Philosophy (Language/Logic).

For the trial lectures, the candidates were given the following task:

To an audience of first-semester philosophy students, you have 45 minutes to address one of the following topics: 

"What is philosophy of language and why should we engage in it?" 

OR

"What is the philosophical study of logic and why should we engage in it?"
