The OCEH Writing Lab organizes monthly sessions for sharing and developing work in progress. The Lab provides an inclusive, supportive space where early-career researchers can present drafts, receive constructive feedback, and exchange practical insights about their writing and research process. Sessions typically combine short presentations or reading excerpts with structured peer feedback, group discussion, and open-ended suggestions.
We focus on:
- Improving draft quality through detailed, collegial commentaries
- Gaining interdisciplinary perspectives and broadening methodological approaches
- Building peer-support network and collaborative relationships
The Writing Lab also runs themed workshops focused on skills and topics central to the environmental humanities and closely related disciplines, such as academic storytelling, grant and fellowship applications, publishing strategies, interdisciplinary translation, and approaches to public engagement.
The Writing Lab welcomes participants at all stages of their work who are committed to collegial and constructive engagement, as space and group capacity allow.
