Research

Eirik Jacobsen is a PhD candidate at the Department of Musicology, University of Oslo. His research addresses how the integration of social media in musical work impacts independent music scenes in Oslo. His work is concerned with both in what ways social media platforms affect the sense of community as well as how expressive meaning and identity is communicated through social media. He holds a master’s degree in Musicology and has worked as a Research Assistant at RITMO Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Rhythm, Time and Motion, both at the University of Oslo.
