C2HO is an interdisciplinary community involved in the field of creative computing, a field that lives at the intersection between the creative arts and computing.
The challenge of the C2HO Creative Computing Competition 2023 is to generate an audiovisual artwork by coding.
Rules
- The competition is open to everyone, including individual participants and teams of up to 4 members.
- The audiovisual artwork must be programmed using a text-based programming language.
- The audiovisual artwork must have a duration of one to two minutes. Audio-only and video-only submissions are also accepted.
- Artworks must be presented in person during the C2HO Meetup and Competition Award.
- Artwork will be featured on the C2HO portal, so a Creative Commons and Open Source license (or equivalent) are required (you retain full ownership of your work).
- Submissions will be evaluated from both aesthetic and technical perspectives.
Further information and guidelines will be provided to participants upon registration.
AI Contestant
One Artificial Intelligence (AI) bot will also participate as a contestant, challenging human "creative coders". The identity of the AI contestant won't be revealed until judges complete the evaluation and submissions are showcased to the audience. The AI contestant won't compete for the prizes.
Prizes
There will be a total of 12000 NOK in cash prizes: 5000 NOK first place, 4000 NOK second place, and 3000 NOK third place. Moreover teams composed by UiO students only will also compete for the opportunity to work with the C2HO group in a paid internship.
