AI learning how to dance, by Benedikte Wallace

Come and join us for the C2HO meetup on Artificial Intelligence and Art.

Benedikte Wallace and Cagri Erdem will showcase works at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, creative computing, generative arts, and human-machine co-creation. In addition there will be an introduction on how to get started with art and AI.

The shorts talks will be followed by an open discussion on art and creativity from the perspective of AI and computing as well controversial aspects and implications of generative techniques in creative fields.

Attendance at this event is free, but requires registration.

With a background in music production and a master degree in Informatics, her academic interests lie in the cross-section between art and science. Her current research is centred around exploring sound-motion mappings with 3D motion capture, generative machine learning and the use of AI as a tool for pursuing and understanding creativity.

His work mainly focuses on computational techniques and approaches to create embodied and often unconventional music interactions between humans and machines with varying intelligence and agency. He enjoys musical noise a lot, finds predictability boring, and is particularly skeptical about the concept of optimization.

Information

The event will be held at Deiglig i Abels hus (ground floor of Niels Henrik Abels hus) at the Blindern campus of the University of Oslo.
