Academic interests
I work mainly in metaphysics and philosophical logic. Most of my work to date has been on the notion of (metaphysical) ground. My main focus has been on the logic of ground, the problem of grounding ground, and the paradoxes of ground. I also have research interests in the metaphysics of modality, vagueness, (mathematical) structuralism, indefinite extensibility, and inferentialist accounts of logic.
Background
My main appointment is as an associate professor of philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin. Before I came to Austin I was a post.doc at the University of Oslo . Before that I did my ph.d at Harvard University; and before that, again, I did a BA in philosophy and mathematics at the University of Oslo.
