The Norwegian Institute in Rome (DNIR) is a centre for research and education in archaeology, art and cultural history related to Rome, Italy and the Mediterranean.

The institute offers

  • An interdisciplinary, international research environment and work space for researchers
  • Engaging courses for students with excursions and site visits in Rome and beyond
  • A research library and priority access to other libraries, archives, sites and research resources in Rome and elsewhere in Italy

History

The Norwegian Institute in Rome (DniR) was established in 1959, and has since been a meeting place for researchers and students.
