Academic Interests

Works on the doctoral dissertation Turkey and the Concept of Europe in connection with the inter disciplinary research project KULTRANS. The dissertation is a conceptual history (Begriffsgeschichte) of the Turkish concept of Europe, and deals with the development in Turkish political discourse in the Ottoman Empire and modern-day Turkey. Besides this, Einar is interested in Turkish-Persian state formation and inter-polity relations in the area stretching from Turkey to China
