Since its launch in 2019, OSEH has aimed to stimulate experimental environmental research that asks innovative questions and seeks dialogue and collaboration across disciplinary divides, and beyond academia. One means to this goal has been through the funding of Collaboratories, where humanities scholars are supported to establish new research teams with scholars from other disciplines than their own.
We sent out the final call for Collaboratories in early spring 2021, and are excited to announce that four new projects were granted funding:
- Fluid Dynamics: Marine Communities, Territory Work, and Ecosystem Change in Anthropic Oceans, led by Florence Durney (IKOS)
- Media Seas of the High North Atlantic, led by Liv Hausken (IMK)
- Playing With Deep Time, led by Laura Op de Beke (IKOS)
- Restorations: Mending Heritage Landscapes and Biodiversity, led by Ane Ohrvik (IKOS) and Karen Lykke Syse (SUM)
OSEH has sent out a total of five calls since the beginning of 2019. We are currently supporting a total of ten Collaboratories. We look forward to seeing what will come out of these projects going forward. The following six Collaboratories were granted funding in 2019 and 2020:
- Anthropogenic Soils, led by Ursula Münster (IKOS) and Daniel Münster (HELSAM)
- Bionic Natures, led by Hugo Reinert (IKOS) and Rachel Douglas-Jones (ITU Copenhagen)
- Critical Petroaesthetics, led by Sissel Furuseth (ILN)
- Curating Climate, led by Dominik Collet (IAKH) and Brita Brenna (IKOS)
- Monsters of the Anthropocene, led by Rebecca Scherr (ILOS)
- Worlds of Meaning in Conservation, led by Sara Asu Schroer and Thom van Dooren (IKOS)
