We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ingar, who defended his thesis on August 26th. In his dissertation, he argues that while the geological aspect of the Anthropocene is unprecedented, the worldview it represents is deeply rooted in historical perspectives that seamlessly integrated social, cultural, biological, geological, and climatological views. This marks the first PhD defence within the KLIMER research group.

The evaluation committee was composed of Pietro Daniel Omodeo, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, as first opponent, Helge Jordheim, University of Oslo, as second opponent, and Marius Buning, University of Oslo, as committee administrator. The defence was chaired by Hilde Sandvik, with Dominik Collett supervising the dissertation.
