Academic interests
I am a Swedish art historian with an interest in religious art, architecture, and spaces in the Late Medieval Period and Early Renaissance, in particular on the Italian peninsula. My PhD project revolves around the ritual burnings of purportedly immoral artworks and craft objects in fifteenth-century Italy, in connection with Franciscan and Dominican art ideals and practices.
During the academic year 2025-2026, I am conducting my research at the Norwegian Institute in Rome.
