Academic interests

My research focuses on environmental justice, climate justice, climate-induced migration and displacement, climate refugees, environmental inequalities, environmental racism, climate governance, and democratic responses to the climate crisis.

Background

I am a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Oslo and a Senior Researcher at Eurac Research (Italy). I hold a PhD in Public, Comparative and International Law from Sapienza University of Rome (2016). My work is situated at the intersection of law, political theory, environmental humanities, and migration studies, with a particular focus on environmental justice and climate mobility. Before joining the University of Oslo, I held research positions at Stockholm University, Eurac Research, the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study, and Universitat Rovira i Virgili.

Awards

I have been awarded several competitive international fellowships, including the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF), the International Mobility of Scholars Grant (Eurac Research), the Maria Zambrano Grant, and the Global Horizons Fellowship at the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study.

Appointments

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Oslo (2026-present); Senior Researcher, Eurac Research (2025-present); Guest Editor of Partecipazione e Conflitto Journal (PACO); Member of the Editorial Board of Inequalities Journal.

Positions held

I previously worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Spain), a Junior Global Horizons Fellow at the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study (Sweden), a Senior Researcher at Eurac Research (Italy), and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stockholm University (Sweden).

Partners

I collaborate with researchers at the University of Oslo, Eurac Research, the Australian National University (ANU), Stockholm University, the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study, Stockholm Resilience Centre, Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Freie Universität Berlin, Aarhus University, and the Human Development and Capability Association (HDCA).

Ongoing Project

RESIST (Democracies in the Climate Crisis: Redefining Citizenship and Statehood in Sinking States) is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship funded by the European Commission under Horizon Europe. The project investigates the implications of climate-induced territorial loss for citizenship and statehood. Project updates and research outputs will be added here as they become available.
