Academic interests
Rami Koskinen is a philosopher of science interested in the philosophy of biology and the general epistemology and methodology of science. His research has focused on modal reasoning in science (how-possibly explanation, the epistemology of scientific modal inference, modal modeling), the question of multiple realizability (biological assembly), and the connection between biological engineering (especially synthetic biology) and natural evolution.
Background
Rami Koskinen received his MA at the University of Helsinki, Finland. He did his PhD at the University of Vienna, Austria, where he also spent a year as a postdoctoral researcher.
