The event is divided into two parts
Part 1 is a space for members of underrepresented/marginalised groups within philosophy to share, support, and collaborate with one other.
UiO’s Senior Lecturer, Dr. Feroz Mehmood Shah will share about his work and experiences in philosophy. Then we will have a discussion about the future of GEP transitioning into a chapter of Minorities and Philosophy.
Send an email to idamkl@uio.no by Monday 28th of August if you are interested in joining Part 1, so we can estimate how many will come to lunch.
Part 2 is open to everyone! There will be a lecture by Temple University’s Professor, Dr. Kristin Gjesdal, who will talk about her book Kvinner i Filosofien / Women Philosophers in the Long Nineteenth Century. Afterward, we will have an open discussion on how we can make philosophy more inclusive.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
