This course is part of HF's PhD week. The course is worth 1 ECTS.
Course description
A central task for the philosopher is to analyse the logic of arguments, the meaning of expressions that constitute the premises and conclusions to the arguments and apply other methods of reasoning in the development and proposal of their philosophical views. Yet, these methods are seldom explicitly taught in philosophy classes. This course aims to rectify this by offering in-depth introduction to argumentative and logical analysis.
In addition, the course will examine methods of reasoning that have been used in important historical and contemporary philosophical work, and the participants will get the opportunity to find the methods that are appropriate for their project, and present their own ideas about how to conduct logical and conceptual analysis. They will then get feedback from others on their approach in a practically oriented workshop format.
