Symposium: Threading Critical Resources

The Threading Critical Resources symposium brings together researchers from art history, design history, philosophy and social anthropology to share ongoing strands of their current work on the subject of "resources," broadly understood.

Organised by the Critical Resources Lab of the Oslo Center for Environmental Humanities, the Threading Critical Resources symposium brings together researchers from art history, design history, philosophy and social anthropology to share ongoing strands of their current work. The symposium foregrounds resources not as fixed objects, but as relational, contested, and processual fields of inquiry. Rather than presenting finished results, participants are invited to reflect on questions, methods, and materials that currently shape their research. The aim here is to open a space for interdisciplinary exchange, mutual attunement, and the weaving of new intellectual constellations.

Presenters include Sarah Chen Huang (UiO), Kjetil Fallan (UiO), Alejandra Mancilla (UiO), Pasi Väliaho (UiO), Rasmus Rodineliussen (UiO), Ursula Ströbele (Braunschweig University of Art) and Birgit Mersmann (University of Bonn).

The symposium is convened by Hauke Ohls, visiting researcher at OCEH and academic lead on the OCEH Critical Resources Lab for the spring 2026 semester.

The symposium is open to pre-registered participants. Note that registration is capped at 15 additional participants: https://nettskjema.no/a/threading
