Unit for Digital Documentation (EDD) was established in order to maintain and further develop the databases and the electronic collections of the so-called Documentation Project (1992-1997).
The unit has also taken on larger projects beyond the boundaries of the University of Oslo, the largest of these being The Museum Project (1998-2006).
