About the seminar

Based on the analysis of 143 individual and group interviews conducted with adults in Argentina, Mora Matassi discusses what it takes for a person to stay away from social media platforms over time.

Mora pays special attention to the social dimension of maintaining disconnection. In particular, she explores how "audiences" of disconnection frame and act in relation to these processes--many times, complicating them.

Torbjörn Rolandsson explores how subject positions and media imaginaries were articulated in legal debates leading up to the adoption of Denmark's anti-stalking law in 2012.

Torbjörn is particularly interested in technological mediations of interpersonal presence and abscence, and how people manage boundaries between private and public space. He has recently published a historical study of ghosting.

The time and date is September 23, 15.00 - 16.00 (Norway time, CEST).
