PhD Project

The main objective of the PhD project is to advance the analysis and generation of melodic contours by developing new approaches that bridge music theory, computational musicology, and Artificial Intelligence. While melodic contour is widely recognized as a fundamental feature in music analysis, existing methods often lack interpretability and struggle to connect contour-based insights with melody generation in a meaningful way. This project seeks to address these gaps by exploring new approaches to contour representation, clustering, and generative modeling.
