The initiative for MishMash originated at IMV, and IMV leads and coordinates this new national centre for AI and creativity.
How should we at IMV understand and make use of the research potential of MishMash?
The seminar begins with presentations by Centre Director Alexander Jensenius and Work Package Leader Ragnhild Brøvig, who will introduce MishMash and open up a discussion about IMV’s opportunities.
Then follows a workshop in which we jointly think, talk, and work creatively with IMV + MishMash.
In this section, IMV’s disciplinary areas are invited to reflect on their potential, their engagement, and their plans for exploring the relationship between music, creativity, and artificial intelligence. There should be significant opportunities within (and also across) these areas:
Music history, aesthetics, philosophy
Popular music, culture, society
Performance, practice, production
Music technology, perception/psychology
The aim is that those of us working within these fields engage with the intersection of IMV and MishMash in the years ahead—with a view to raising meaningful questions, developing new perspectives, methods, and forms of analysis, as well as new ways of collaborating and communicating.
Welcome!
